This policy (together with our User Terms and Conditions (the "Terms") and any other documents referred to in it) sets out the basis on which any personal data we collect from you, or that you provide to us, will be processed by us. For clarity, any terms which are defined in the Terms or GP Terms have the same meaning when used in this Privacy Policy. Please read the following carefully to understand our practices and views regarding your personal data. Any terms used in this policy shall have the same meaning as those used in the Terms. In the event of any conflict between the Terms and this policy, the Terms shall prevail.

By agreeing to the Terms, or GP Terms if you are a General Practitioner, you are accepting and consenting to the practices described in this policy.

For the purpose of the Data Protection Act 1998 (the "Act"), the data controller is Q doctor.


We may collect and process the following data about you:

Information you give us and we collect about you You may give us information about you by entering information through the Site ( or the App, allowing us access to data about you held by third parties, filling in forms, or by corresponding with us by phone, e-mail or otherwise. You may also give us information, and we may collect and process information about you resulting from, any interactions you undertake or services you request or source through the Site or the App (including consultations and prescriptions). Information collected includes any data or information contained in consultation recordings. The information you give us may include your name, address, e-mail address and phone number, financial and credit card information, personal description and photograph, and may also include sensitive information about you including your health, medical records, physical and mental performance, characteristics, any ailments, diseases or disabilities, your race, gender, age and other sensitive information.

Information automatically collected by our Site or App With regard to each of your visits to our Site or App, we may automatically collect the following information where this is permitted by your device settings:

(a) technical information, including the address used to connect your mobile phone or other device to the Internet, your login information, system and operating system type and version, time zone setting, operating system and platform, your location; and

(b) information about your visit, including products and services you viewed or used; App response times, and interaction information.

Information we receive from other sources We may receive information about you if you use any of the other services or products that we provide, or if you use any of our Affiliates or third parties to fulfil a request you have made via the App.


We use information held about you in the following ways:

Information you give to us We will use this information to:

(a) provide the products and services;

(b) provide such information to any member of our group, or Affiliates, business partners, suppliers and sub-contractors of Q doctor where reasonable or necessary in relation to the provision of the products and services including provision of your information to Practitioners, dispensing chemists, partner diagnostic (testing) providers, and suppliers or subcontractors used in relation to our Site or App;

(c) provide medical information and and current prescription status to your current GP - inclusive of any diagnosis, treatment and clinical assessment made in consultation - where you are a User, have disclosed prior registration with a GP, provided their details, and consented at the booking of a consultation for this information to be shared;

(d) process your payment as a User for such products and services;

(e) review and enhance the quality of our services and products, including monitoring compliance with clinical care standards;

(f) make disclosures about you as a User – in some circumstances to your registered General Practitioner even in the absence of consent - as required by or in compliance with reasonable requests by regulatory bodies including the General Medical Council or Care Quality Commission, or as otherwise required by law or regulation;

(g) where you request it or have otherwise consented, provide to your insurance company/ies who may contribute to the cost of the products or services you request to use; and

(h) assist in the detection of fraud.

Other Uses Of Information We Collect About You

We may use this information:

(a) to administer our Site and App and for internal operations, including troubleshooting, data analysis, testing, statistical and survey purposes;

(b) to improve our App and Site to ensure that content is presented in the most effective manner for you on your mobile phone or other device;

(c) to allow you to participate in interactive features of our service, when you choose to do so;

(d) for purposes including research, and marketing of the Q doctor service, subject to such data being anonymised;

(e) as part of our efforts to keep our Site and App safe and secure; and

(f) to make suggestions and recommendations to you and other users about services that may interest you or them.

Other uses of information we receive from other sources. We may combine this information with information you give to us and information we collect about you. We may use this information and the combined information for the purposes set out above (depending on the types of information we receive).

By using the App or any of the Services, you consent to us collecting and using technical information about the devices and related software, hardware and peripherals for services that are e-based or wireless to improve our products and to provide any services to you.

You should also know that we work with third party analytics companies to discover how we can improve, update and change the Service. Such third parties may therefore gain access to your Personal Data (but not any medical records). If you do not consent to such use of Personal Data, please do not use the Service and remove the Service from your device by uninstalling the App.

If you use our services, you consent to us and our Affiliates' and licensees' transmission, collection, maintenance, processing and use of your location data and queries to provide and improve location-based products and services. You may withdraw this consent at any time by turning off the location services settings on your device.

If Q doctor or substantially all of its assets are acquired by a third party, personal data held by Q doctor about its customers will be one of the transferred assets.

We may disclose your personal information if we are under a duty to disclose or share your personal data in order to comply with any legal obligation, or in order to enforce or apply our Terms and other agreements; or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Q doctor, our customers, or others. This includes exchanging information with other companies and organisations for the purposes of fraud protection and credit risk reduction.


We do not store any of your personal data on your mobile device – personal data, including medical information for Users and professional information for Practitioners, is stored on secure servers located in the UK. The handling of this data meets strict Data Protection Act requirements for the protection of health-related information, as set out by the Information Commissioner’s Office and in the NHS code of practice on Records management (viewable at Where you have chosen a password that enables you to access certain parts of our Site or App, you are responsible for keeping this password confidential. We ask you not to share the password with anyone.

We do not store any credit or debit card information. Payments are processed via a third party payment provider - Stripe at, 3180 18th Street, Suite 100, San Francisco, CA 94110, USA. You will be providing credit or debit card information directly to Stripe which operates a secure server that is fully compliant with Level 1 Payment Card Industry (PCI) data security standards to process payment details, encrypting your credit/debit card information and authorising payment. Information which you supply to Stripe is not within our control and is subject to Stripe’s own privacy policy and terms and conditions available at

We encrypt data transmitted to and from the App. However, secure transmission of information via the internet cannot be guaranteed due to security threats outside our control and you acknowledge that transmission is at your own risk. Once we have received your information, we will use strict procedures and security features to try to prevent unauthorised access. By submitting your personal data, you agree to this transfer, storing or processing. We will take all steps reasonably necessary to ensure that your data is treated securely and in accordance with this privacy policy.

Other data may be processed or stored via destinations outside the European Economic Area (“EEA”), in accordance with Information Commissioner’s Office guidance. In addition, if you use our services while you are outside the EEA (in contravention of the Terms), your information may be transferred outside the EEA in order to provide you with those services.


If you have elected to receive marketing materials, at any time subsequently you can ask not to receive marketing materials. The Act gives you the right to access information held about you. Your right of access can be exercised in accordance with the Act. Any access request may be subject to a fee of £10 to meet our costs in providing you with details of the information we hold about you.


Any changes we make to our privacy policy in the future will be notified to you the next time you log-in via our Site or App. The then current privacy policy will apply to any transaction or use and it is your responsibility to ensure that you are content to contract on the then current privacy policy at the point of any transaction or use.
